What You Need to Purchase (Early Game)

  • Thermometer – finds the ghost room pretty quickly, and you can be confident that you have the room once it gets cold enough. Pretty much mandatory gear for me now.
  • Crucifix – knowing you will be able to survive if it starts hunting is a very useful thing, especially if you are overstaying your welcome doing secondary objectives or the exorcism
  • Sanity Pills – gives you a lot more time before it gets dangerous, which is always good. I try to take one when my sanity reaches 60, although I have been caught by early hunters like the Thaye.

    Be aware that consumable items are not lost unless you die or prematurely leave the game (which costs you everything and you don’t even get insurance).
