BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A second hit-and-run occurred this past weekend in the Treasure Valley, this time leaving two people in serious condition and one young man under arrest.
Meridian Police say 26-year-old Michael Green crashed into a motorcyclist while traveling down East Fairview Avenue in Meridian Saturday night. Green was driving an F-150 while under the influence.
He changed lanes abruptly and without indicating, sideswiping the motorcyclist and "ejecting him into the westbound lanes of Fairview," according to a statement from the Meridian Police Department.
Green then fled the scene at a high rate of speed. He was eventually tracked down by Garden City Police and determined to be impaired.
A good Samaritan got out of their vehicle to assist the injured motorcyclist when they were both hit by an oncoming car. The motorcyclist and the good Samaritan were transported to the hospital in critical condition. There has been no further update on their condition at this time.
Green was charged with felony aggravated DUI and felony leaving the scene of an accident resulting in an injury.
