BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Idaho Transportation Department is now taking applications for its free hands-on training course.
The five-week program offers training in practical skills including heavy equipment operations, cement masonry and ironworks. Participants can also earn a free commercial driver's license.
"75% of the program’s graduates have obtained employment with companies in the industry," ITD says. Applications will be accepted until all spots are filed.
To participate, people must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a drug screening and DOT physical.
