Kacey Alexander Gaulden is the son of American rapper, NBA YoungBoy, and his ex-girlfriend, Jania Meshell. Born in February 2019, Gaulden stepped into the world at the time his parents were on the verge of a nasty breakup.
Gaulden’s father, YoungBoy, and his mother, Meshell, are no longer together due to their reportedly abusive relationship. YoungBoy was even arrested for assaulting and kidnapping Meshell in February 2018, as seen in a TMZ video clip where he hit her and tried to drag her into a hotel room in Waycross, Georgia.
The former partners had a messy relationship and were not allowed to interact during their court proceedings. The case was finalised in December 2019, with YoungBoy receiving 12 months of probation and a $1,500 penalty.

Despite this, YoungBoy denied ever hitting Meshell in an Instagram live, where he discussed their relationship after she announced she was pregnant with their son, Gaulden.
YoungBoy said: “I never physically punched my girl, I never physically slapped my girl. But you know, they gon’ bend it for who I am. And when they ban us from being around each other, you know we couldn’t speak no more. But at the same time, you know, when everything (is) back right, you know what it is. Bitch I’ll leave you in a second when the charges drop.”
After young Gaulden’s parents went their separate ways, his father released a diss track, entitled: Truth About Herpes, in which he claimed that Meshell gave him herpes.

When Gaulden’s mother, Meshell, heard the track, she did not take it lightly. She took to social media and vented over the rapper’s accusation.
In a series of tweets in December 2019, she wrote: “I didn’t give NOBODY SHIT! This lying shit getting OUT OF HAND and I’m sick of it. Anything for SALES I’m over it I DO NOT HAVE SHIT… I said it out of love playing along but nah f**k, that it was all a lie. Once I drop these papers stop talking to me bye.”
Although Gaulden has a good relationship with his father, he is raised by his mother. His mother revealed that she was pregnant after her split with YoungBoy. At that same point, YoungBoy was undergoing assault charges and was not allowed to meet Gaulden and his mum. Hence, he shares a very peculiar bond with his mother, Meshell.
