'Practical Magic 2' stirs up a bewitching return

Get some more midnight margaritas ready because a sequel to the 1998 film "Practical Magic" is in the works.

The studio announced the news via social media Monday and Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are expected to return as producers, according to Variety.

"Can't talk, busy summoning Practical Magic 2," the studio wrote on TikTok alongside a clip released at midnight.

The original film was directed by Griffin Dunne and written by Alice Hoffman, Robin Swicord and Akiva Goldsman.

Details of the plot have not been released.

"Practical Magic" was adapted from the 1995 book by Alice Hoffman. The story follows two sisters, Sally (Bullock) and Gillian (Kidman), who come from a long line of witches and were orphaned at a young age. Raised by their eccentric aunts who embrace magic, it is revealed the family is cursed and any man who falls in love with them is doomed to have an untimely death.

In 2019, HBO Max announced a prequel series starring the beloved aunts but it never came to fruition.
