Top 10 Most Powerful Catalysts

Amongst Genshin Impact's weapon classes, the Catalysts are the most special. Due to their elemental nature, all Normal and Charged Attacks performed with a Catalyst are considered elemental damage. In this article, we are going to showcase the Genshin Impact catalyst tier list 2021 (ranked from best to worst).

While there are other catalysts in the game, this list only showcases the 10 Genshin Impact best catalysts. Currently, there are 8 catalyst users in the game: Barbara, Klee, Lisa, Mona, Ningguang, Kokomi, Sucrose and Yanfei.

Table of Contents

1. Skyward Atlas

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 48 - 674
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): ATK +7.2% - 33.1%

Increases Elemental DMG Bonus by 12 - 24%. Normal Attack hits have a 50% chance to earn the favor of the clouds. which actively seek out nearby opponents to attack for 15s, dealing 160 - 320% ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 30s.

Skyward Atlas is the best Catalyst in Genshin Impact, with the highest damage potential. It is a good option for every catalyst user if you want to deal damage. The base stats and sub stat are solid and will outweigh any 4 star weapon perk. However, Skyward Atlas is useless in support builds.

Because of its heavy focus on DPS, players should use Skyward Atlas on Lisa, Klee, Mona, and Yanfei.

2. Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 46 - 608
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): CRIT Rate + 7.2% - 33.1%

Increases Movement SPD by 10%. When in battle, gain an 8 - 16% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4s. Max 4 stacks. Lasts indefinitely but is removed when users fall or leave combat.

Overall, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is the second-best damage catalyst in Genshin Impact. While it has better crit, Lost Prayer is weaker on the bursting department and does not work for sub DPS characters. Losing stack on swapping out is a big drawback and the 16 seconds of charging up is not exactly that fast either.

Lost Prayer is best used on Klee, Mona and Yanfei. This is the best critical-based weapon in Genshin Impact Catalyst tier list.

3. The Widsith

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 42 - 510
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): CRIT DMG +12% - 55.1%

When swapping in, the user will gain one of the following effects for 10s. CD 30s.

  • Recitative: ATK is increased by 60 - 120%.
  • Aria: Increases all Elemental DMG by 48 - 96%.
  • Interlude: Elemental Mastery is increased by 240 - 480.

Despite being a 4-star weapon, the Widsith is super strong and is easily one of the best choices for catalyst users. It has Critical Damage as its substat and a passive skill that might enable massive damage boosts. Overall, this is the best Genshin Impact catalyst for a sub DPS character like Lisa, Klee or Ningguang.

4. Solar Pearl

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 42 - 510
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): CRIT Rate +6% - 27.6%

Normal Attack hits increase Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 20 - 40% for 6s.  Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits increase Normal Attack DMG by 20 - 40% for 6s.

Overall, the catalyst is useful for characters who are built around both skill and normal attacks. Ningguang is the best Solar Pearl user as the buff can improve her ultimate damage substantially. Also, Klee also benefit from the weapon.

5. Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 39 - 401
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): HP +7.7% - 35.2%

When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24 - 48% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.

Being a 3 star Catalyst, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is super easy to acquire and upgrade. This is mainly used for a support character to give the swapped-in damage dealer a whopping 48% damage bonus. Overall, it is best equipped on Barbara, Sucrose and Kokomi.

6. Memory of Dust

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 46 - 608
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): ATK 10.8% - 49.6%

Increases Shield Strength by 20%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.

Memory of Dust is a great 5-star weapon with a lot of damage, however, it didn't make the top of Genshin Impact catalyst tier list due to a few drawbacks. Unlike Skyward Atlas and Lost Prayer, Memory of Dust requires a full-time Shielder for the most bonus, which forces you to use Zhongli and the like. The best character to use this catalyst is Ningguang.

7. Sacrificial Fragments

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 41 - 454
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): Elemental Mastery +48 - 221

After dealing damage to an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40 - 80% chance to end its own CD. Can only occur once every 30 - 16s.

Sacrificial Fragments is one of the best choices in Genshin Impact catalyst tier list for support-oriented mages like Sucrose who need to spam their skills.

8. Dodoco Tales

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 41 - 454
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): ATK + 12% - 55.1%

Normal Attack hits on opponents increase Charged Attack DMG by 16 - 32% for 6s. Charged Attack hits on opponents increase ATK by 8 - 16% for 6s.

Dodoco Tales offers a great boost for DPS characters like Klee, who relies on her Charged attack to deal damage. Mona and Yanfei can also use it as well. However, this catalyst is event exclusive. If you missed the event for this weapon, you won't be able to get it.

9. Hakushin Ring

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 44 - 565
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): Energy Recharge +6.7% - 30.6%

After the character equipped with this weapon triggers an Electro elemental reaction, nearby party members of an Elemental Type involved in the elemental reaction receive a 10 - 20% Elemental DMG Bonus for their element, lasting 6s. This buff does not stack.

Hakushin Ring's passive is very niche, as it only works on a single element. However, it offers high utility if used right. Because of the Electro restriction, the best character to use Hakushin Ring on is Lisa alone.

10. Everlasting Moonglow

  • Base ATK (Lv. 1 - 90): 46 - 608
  • 2nd Stat (Lv. 1 - 90): HP +10.8% - 49.6%

Healing Bonus increased by 10 - 20%, Normal Attack DMG is increased by 1 - 3% of the Max HP of the character equipping this weapon. For 12s after using an Elemental Burst, Normal Attacks that hit opponents will restore 0.6 Energy. Energy can be restored this way once every 0.1s.

Despite being a 5-star weapon, Everlasting Moonglow is actually pretty bad. It is only usable on Kokomi, with very niche bonuses that don't help much in combat. Players can also use this on Barbara if there are no other choices.
