VANCOUVER, Wash. (KATU) — The Camas and Evergreen School Districts in Southwest Washington could enter a second week of teacher strikes as negotiations continue.
Negotiations picked up again Sunday at Evergreen Public Schools after a day off Saturday.
The teacher's union tells KATU it presented a counter proposal Sunday morning. There’s no word yet if both sides are close to an agreement.
The teacher strikes have forced Evergreen Public Schools to cancel three days of classes so far.
There were no bargaining sessions through the weekend for the Camas School District, but both sides will be back at the table Monday morning.
A spokesperson for the Camas teacher’s union said negotiations heading into this weekend were stalled.
KATU reached out to the school for an update, however, we did not hear back as of Sunday evening.
The Camas teacher's union has been on strike since last Monday, and the district has canceled four days of class so far
